South Korea's coal imports totaled 9.86 million tonnes in June, falling 3.2% from 10.19 million tonnes a year ago but gaining 1.53% from a month earlier, showed the latest customs data.

Coal shipments from its largest supplier Australia fell 4.85% year on year to 2.79 million tonnes, which also dropped 26.08% from May.
Imports from Russia were 2.26 million tonnes, decreasing 10.28% from a year ago and down 5.65% from the month prior.
South Korea took 1.89 million tonnes of coal from Indonesia, sliding 20.28% from the year prior but inching up 0.17% from May.
Total coal imports amounted to $739 million in the month, a year-on-year decrease of 41.32% and monthly fall of 8.09%. That translated to an average price of $74.91/t, falling 32.65% on the year and down 9.48% on the month.
In the first six months, South Korea imported a total 59.29 million tonnes of coal, down by 10.91% year on year. The value declined 30.92% from the year prior to 5.0 billion yuan during the period.
