The daily output of crude steel averaged 2.13 million tonnes at China's key steel mills in early July, down 0.53% from late June while up 5.81% from last year, according to data from China Iron and Steel Association (CISA).
During the first ten days of July, China's key steel mills produced a total of 21.31 million tonnes of crude steel, data showed.
Based on the data, it is calculated China has produced a total of 29.76 million tonnes of crude steel in the period, with a daily output of 2.98 million tonnes, down 0.29% from late June while up 4.74% year on year.
The daily output of pig iron slid 3.96% from late June but increased 7.61% on the year to 1.92 million tonnes, with the total output reaching 19.17 million tonnes during July 1-10, according to the CISA.
China's pig iron production is estimated to total 25.14 million tonnes with a daily output of 2.51 million tonnes, ticking down 0.01% from late June yet up 9.36% year on year.
The average daily output of steel products reached 1.98 million tonnes in the period at these steel firms, down 7.20% from late June while up 5.61% year on year, with the total output hitting 19.80 million tonnes in early July.
China's total output of steel products is calculated at 36.19 million tonnes, with a daily output of 3.62 million tonnes in early July, falling by 2.92% from late June while increasing by 5.33% year on year.
Steel product stocks of key steel mills hit 13.62 million tonnes as of July 10, keeping flat from late June while building up 4.08 million tonnes or 42.84% over the beginning of the year, according to the CISA.
