South Korea's met coal (including coking coal and PCI coal) imports fell 6.6% year on year to 14.79 million tonnes during January-June, showed the latest customs data.
Met coal imports fell 34.75% from a year ago and dropped 19.96% month on month to 1.90 million tonnes last month, data showed.

Coking coal
South Korea imported 1.54 million tonnes of coking coal in June, falling 23.08% year on year yet climbed 5.9% month on month.
Canada was the largest coking coal supplier to South Korea last month, with shipment of 532,400 tonnes, down 11.87% on the year but up 23.79% on the month.
South Korea's coking coal intakes from its second supplier Australia came in at 396,900 tonnes, falling 47.33% year on year and 3.48% month on month, showed the data.
Followed was the Russia, which shipped 269,500 tonnes of the steelmaking material to South Korea, down 3.37% year on year and 2.92% month on month.
South Korea's coking coal imports were worth $196 million last month, decreasing 45.81% from the previous year but rising 1.97% from a month ago.
The average import price was calculated at $127.05/t, sliding 29.55% year on year and down 3.72% from the month-ago level.
PCI coal
South Korea's PCI coal imports slumped 60.36% year on year and 60.76% month on month to362,000 tonnes in June.
Australia still ranked first in major PCI coal origins, at 172,300 tonnes, although the volume dived 70.47% from a year ago and 76.83% from the preceding month.
S. Korea exported 102,800 tonnes to Russia, falling 22.88% on the year and 36.15% from the month prior.
South Korea saw PCI coal import value tumbled 76.36% from a year ago and 67.13% from the preceding month to $39.06 million in the month, translating into average import price of $107.9/t, which was down 40.35% on the year and 16.23% from May.
