South Korean coke imports in June were falling for the third consecutive month to a new low of 18,200 tonnes since February 2017, according to the latest data from South Korean Customs.
That was down 31.06% from 26,400 tonnes in the same period last year and falling by 18.75% from 22,400 tonnes in May.

Almost all the imports came from mainland China, reaching around 18,100 tonnes, down 31.44% from 26,400 tonnes in the corresponding period of a year ago and dropping by 19.2% from 22,400 tonnes in May.
The imports were worth $4.467 million, tumbling by 46.97% on the year and down 16.94% from the previous month. The average import price was estimated to be $245.44, down 23.07% year on year while rising by 2.23% month on month.
South Korea imported a total of 155,100 tonnes of coke from January to June, a 10.24% decline compared with 172,800 tonnes in the same period of the previous year. The import value amounted to $40.34 million, sliding by 29.12% from $56.92 million in the first six month of 2019.
