Wind and photovoltaic power grid parity project scale of the northwestern China's Shaanxi province reaches 2.05 GW this year, accounting for 4.6% of China's total and ranking ninth, said Shaanxi development and reform commission.
China's wind and photovoltaic power grid parity projects for 2020 will have a total installed capacity of 44.45 GW, announced by the economic planner and the national energy administration.
The total investment in Shaanxi will be 9.6 billion yuan ($1.37 billion), and the annual power generation will hit 3 TWh. The projects are planned to be completed and connected to the grid by the end of 2021, according to the Shaanxi provincial development and reform commission.
The commission stated that wind and photovoltaic power grid parity projects will not need national subsidies, and implement coal-fired benchmark on-grid tariffs.
The construction of the projects is conducive to improving the competitiveness of wind power and photovoltaic power, accelerating energy transformation and facilitating the construction of a clean, low-carbon, safe and efficient energy system in Shaanxi.
