Power consumption of Guangdong province in South China climbed up 4.72% year on year in August, marking increase for the fourth consecutive month, according to China Southern Power Grid.
The primary industries – mainly the agriculture sector – saw a strong year-on-year rise of 13.34% in the month, maintaining double-digit growth since May this year.
In the secondary industries, the construction sector has maintained over 20% year-on-year growth since May, while computer, communication and other electronic equipment manufacturing sector, and automobile manufacturing sector all had double-digit rises.
In January-August, Guangdong's power usage totaled 447.7 TWh, up by 1.29% year on year.
The secondary industries posted a 1.71% decline from a year ago during the same period, while the primary and tertiary industries saw growths of 8.26% and 0.21%.
Residential power consumption increased by 12.78% year on year.
