Ejin Horo in Inner Mongolia produced 14.57 million tonnes of raw coal in August, falling 4% year on year and down by 11.7% from July, showed data from the local government website.
Shenhua Shendong Coal Corporation produced 6.19 million tonnes, 6.0% lower than the year-ago level, while local mines produced 8.38 million tonnes, down 3% year on year.
Coal output in January-August totaled 125 million tonnes, up by 2.0% from the preceding year. Production by Shenhua Shendong Coal dipped 2% to 50.43 million tonnes, while that by local mines increased by 4% to 74.26 million tonnes.
Ejin Horo sold 14.34 million tonnes of raw coal last month, sliding 4% from the year-ago level.
Coal sales of Shenhua Shendong Coal Corporation were down 6% on the year to 6.19 million tonnes in August, while local mines' offtake dipped 2% to 8.15 million tonnes.
Coal sales in the first eight months were up 2% on the year to 121 million tonnes.
By end-August, the coal price averaged 322 yuan/t in Ejin Horo, falling 1 yuan/t or 0.3% year on year.
Average price of lump coal stood at 356 yuan/t, up 10 yuan/t from a year ago. Raw coal average price dropped 61 yuan/t year on year to 246 yuan/t while slack coal rose 8 yuan/t to 325 yuan/t.
