Coal imports through China's Ganqimaodu border crossing, the major gateway for Mongolia coking coal to China, increased 5.42% from a month ago to 2.48 million tonnes in September, realizing a positive growth for the first time since the reopening of the gateway on March 21, local media reported, citing customs data.
The positive growth was ascribed to the effective operation of "green channel", and the rising coking coal in Inner Mongolia.
The daily coal import totaled 95,500 tonnes, rising 5.4% month on month and 3.8% year on year.
Ganqimaodu border mainly imports coal and copper from Mongolia.
