China's coal-producing Shaanxi province decommissioned 57 mines in 2020 with production capacity totaling 16.93 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa), according to an announcement issued by local government on January 19.
Among these closed mines, 47 mines each have production capacity of 0.3 Mtpa and below, with combined capacity totaling 11.41 Mtpa. The largest mine is Huanglougou coal mine in Xunyi county, Xianyang city, whose capacity reached 0.9 Mtpa.
Twenty decommissioned mines were in Yulin city, 18 were in Weinan city, six in Yan'an city, three in Shangluo city, two in Xianyang city and one in Tongchuan city.
