South Korea's met. coal (including coking coal and PCI coal) imports in May fell to a new low in 2021, the latest customs data showed.
The country imported 2.25 million tonnes of met coal last month, falling 5.55% from a year ago and 9.55% from a month ago, data showed.

May coking coal imports were worth $277 million last month, falling 10.82% from the previous year and 5.39% from a month ago. The average import price was calculated at $123.43/t, falling 5.58% year on year but rising 4.6% from the month-ago level.
South Korea's met coal imports totaled 12.8 million tonnes in January-May, falling 0.64% from a year ago, with imports value at $1.49 billion, down 12.2% year on year.
