Russia's thermal coal exports amounted to 10.94 million tonnes in April, a year-on-year rise of 19.94% but slumping 33.93% from March, showed data from the Federal Customs Service of Russia.
Export value totaled $670 million in the month, up 18.81% year on year but falling 34.94% month on month.
Despite a year-on-year jump of 53.48%, Russia's coal shipment to China still fell 20.52% on the month to 2.22 million tonnes in April.
In the month, exports of bituminous coal rose 19.56% from a year ago to 10.9 million tonnes, tumbling 34.1% month on month, while other coal exports skyrocketed 130% on the month to 38,600 tonnes.
In January-April, Russia's thermal coal exports totaled 47.52 million tonnes, up 6.37% from a year ago, while export value ticked up by 4.25% to $2.71 billion.
