Japan's anthracite imports declined 6.44% from the year prior and 12.77% from October to 628,700 tonnes in November, the third high in this year, showed the latest data from Japan's Ministry of Finance (MOF).
The import value of anthracite totaled 14.99 billion yen ($128.45 million), jumping 110.35% on the year and up 7.4% from the month before. The average import price was calculated at 23,844.64 yen/t, up 124.84% year on year and 23.12% month on month.
Japan imported 448,900 tonnes of anthracite from Australia, up 24% on the year and 7.66% on the month; that from Russia totaled 132,500 tonnes, diving 51.32% year on year and 45.24% from October. Coal shipment from above two countries accounted for 92% of the total.
In January-November, Japan imported 5.35 million tonnes of anthracite in total, up 11.7% year on year.
