Power consumption in China's four major energy-intensive industries was registered at 1,135 TWh during January-June, a 0.2% year-on-year rise, official data showed.
Power consumption of two industries in China registered decline while the other two posted rise during the first six months compared with the preceding year, according to China Electricity Council.
Specifically, the chemical industry and non-ferrous metallurgy industry consumed 268.8 TWh and 364.5 TWh respectively during the first half of the year, rising 4.9% and 2.1% year on year.
The power consumption of ferrous metallurgy industry and building materials industry declined by 2.8% and 4.6% year on year to 313.8 TWh and 188 TWh respectively.
In June, the four industries consumed 199.5 TWh of power, inching down by 0.1% year on year.
Power usage in the chemical industry and non-ferrous metallurgy industry came in at 46.5 TWh and 63.0 TWh, up 5.3% and 4.3% year on year. Ferrous metallurgy industry and building materials industry consumed 53.7 TWh and 36.3 TWh of electricity, down 4.7% and 6.4%, data showed.
