Inner Mongolia, one of the top three coal-producing bases in China, produced 93.31 million tonnes of raw coal in June, rising 16.9% year on year, marking it the ninth straight month with the calculated daily output exceeding 3 million tonnes, according to the local statistical bureau.
During the first half of the year, the cumulative output in the region stood at 583 million tonnes, a year-on-year increase of 15.5%, with the growth rate accelerating 0.3 percentage point from the first five months.
In June, Inner Mongolia's power generation was registered at 52.71 TWh, a year-on-year increase of 7.6%, a 3.4-percentage-point faster growth than the previous month. The average daily power generation was calculated at 1.76 TWh, up 110 GWh from the previous month.
The cumulative power generation came in at 307.36 TWh, a year-on-year increase of 5.3%, data showed.
Thermal power generation was 247.31 TWh, up 6.7% from the preceding year; wind power generation was 49.75 TWh, a year-on-year decrease of 0.5%; solar power generation was 8.38 TWh, up 10.5%; hydropower generation was 1.93 TWh, down 24.3%.
