Poland's hard coal production reached 3.55 million tonnes in April, down 24.7% from a year earlier and 16.7% from a month earlier, official statistics showed.
Lignite production was 2.99 million tonnes in the month, down 30.1% year on year and 11.6% month on month, according to Statistics Poland.
Poland's total coal production was calculated at 6.54 million tonnes in April, down 2.45 million tonnes or 27.3% on the year and 1.10 million tonnes or 14.4% on the month, which was the lowest monthly output since at least 2019.
Poland produced a total 29.37 million tonnes of coal during January-April, a 21.1% fall from the same period in 2022. Hard coal production was 15.57 million tonnes, down 18.5% year on year, and lignite production dropped 23.8% to 13.80 million tonnes.
