Coal imports in Vietnam came in at 3.81 million tonnes in May, slumping 49.49% from the year-ago level of 7.54 million tonnes, and slightly lower compared with 3.94 million tonnes in April, showed preliminary data from the Vietnam customs authority.
The value of imports amounted to $372 million, down 28.17% year on year but up 6.51% month on month.
Coal imports during January-May totaled 16.43 million tonnes, down 34.98% from 25.27 million tonnes a year ago, with imports value amounting to $1.46 billion, down 20% year on year.
