Jiangsu, a coastal province in Eastern China consumed 57.94 TWh of electricity in September, up 1.98% year on year, showed data from Jiangsu Energy Regulatory Office of National Energy Administration.
Its power use in the first nine months picked up 14.95% from the year before to 535.94 TWh, data showed.
The province's power generation rose 5.09% on the year to 45.61 TWh in September, bringing the total production to 441.31 TWh in January-September, jumping 18.65% from the year-ago level.
During January-September, average operation of power generation units added up to 3,038 hours, rising 278 hours on the year.
In January-September, newly-added power capacity in Jiangsu hit 6.97 GW, consisting of 2.69 GW of thermal power, 1.12 GW of nuclear power, 1.85 GW of wind power, 1.30 GW of photovoltaic power and 1.4 MW of hydro power.
By September-end, Jiangsu's total power installed capacity hit 147.73 GW, according to the office.
