The Mongolian Prime Minister required related departments to initiate the pilot test for unmanned cross-border coal delivery at Gashuunsukhait/Ganqimaodu before July 5, according to report from the country's media.
With the new technology in place, the country's coal exports via the border crossing will increase by over 10 million tonnes per year.
This transportation method will also be adopted to cross-border coal shipment at Shiveekhuren/Ceke, Khangi/Mandula border crossings.
Mongolia is urgent to enlarge coal exports in the short term to take advantage of continuously rising coal prices, said an official with the country's public relation ministry.
