Daily crude steel output at key member firms of China Iron and Steel Association (CISA) stood at 2.26 million tonnes during June 11-20, down 1.34% compared with the previous ten days and falling 5.74% compared with the same period in 2021, the CISA data showed.
Daily production of pig iron averaged 2.03 million tonnes during the given period, falling 1.12% from ten days ago and 1.78% from the same period in the year prior. Daily output of finished steel increased 1.50% from ten days ago but fell 3.51% from the year prior to 2.20 million tonnes.
Basing on the production data from CISA member mills, China was estimated to produce a total of 31.03 million tonnes of crude steel during the same period, with daily output down 0.91% from ten days ago to 3.10 million tonnes.
Total output of pig iron in China was estimated at 26.12 million tonnes, with daily output up 0.96% to 2.61 million tonnes. Total finished steel output was estimated to reach 39.93 million tonnes, with daily output rising 0.91% to 3.99 million tonnes.
As of June 20, CISA key member steel mills held 20.52 million tonnes of finished steel stocks, 10.65% higher from early-June, 81.67% higher than the start of the year and 30.75% higher compared with the same period in 2021, data showed.
