China's central province Henan produced 8.5 million tonnes of raw coal in May, up 3.2% on the year, and the total output declined 2.5% from a year ago to 40.56 million tonnes during the first five months, showed data from provincial statistical bureau on June 23.
Production of washed coal fell 4.2% year on year to 2.74 million tonnes, while coke ouutput jumped 33.8% to 1.76 million tonnes.
Henan produced 21.88 TWh of power in May, a year-on-year fall of 2.2%, and January-May electricity output at 122.87 TWh, rising 3.9% year on year. The electricity generated from power coal declined 5.9% year on year, and that from hydropower, wind and solar respective increased 6.9%, 16.6% and 12.4% from a year ago.
