Northwestern China's Gansu province saw the daily output of its largest underground coal mine exceed 20,000 tonnes for the first time since it was officially put into operation in March 2022, local media reported.
The Hetaoyu coal mine produced 20,063 tonnes of raw coal on August 2, marking another breakthrough after its output exceeded 10,000 tonnes.
The underground mine and coal preparation plant combined belong to a coal-electricity integration project of the Huaneng Qingyang Coal and Electricity Company. The minefield covers an area of 191 square kilometers, with coal reserves of 2.082 billion tonnes and recoverable reserves of 1.198 billion tonnes.
Hetaoyu coal mine has a designed capacity of 8 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa) and a service life of 107 years. Construction of the mine was started on April 17, 2009, the joint-trial operation was started in October 2020, and it was officially put into production in March this year after completion acceptance.
The coal produced in the mine has excellent quality and high calorific value. Coal seam distribution of the mine is concentrated, and the occurrence conditions are good.
