Haoji railway, China's longest heavy-haul coal artery, saw its cumulative shipments come in at 152 million tonnes as of September 27, marking it three-year anniversary since September 28, 2019.
The railway shipped 4.02 million tonnes of coal in 2019, 26.2 million tonnes in 2020, 58.25 million tonens in 2021, and 63.78 million tonnes so far this year.
Nearly 80 coal trains were operating averagely every day, and Haoji's daily shipment had once broke through 300,000 tonnes, with Ordos in Inner Mongolia, Yulin and Shenmu in Shaanxi being main coal sources.
75% of coal delivered by Haoji railway went to Hubei, Hunan and Jiangxi, while 12% was shipped to Henan.
The 1,814.5-km railway provides a convenient linkage between energy hubs of Inner Mongolia, Shaanxi, Gansu and Ningxia with consuming provinces of Hubei, Hunan and Jiangxi, a strategic channel for China's coal supply from north to south.
