Ordos, a major coal base in Inner Mongolia, signed a total 696 million tonnes of medium- and long-term contracts in 2022, representing 93% of the estimated production for the year, according to local energy bureau.
The coal-rich city motivated local coal mines to include 80% of the existing production capacity and 100% of the newly-added capacity into the scope of the supply guarantee agreement.
From January to October, a total of 468 million tonnes of coal had been shipped, and the contract fulfillment rate exceeded 80%.
Ordos has 243 coal mines in production, with a total capacity of 866 million tonnes per year. Its daily coal sales exceeds 2.35 million tonnes.
