China Coal Energy Co., Ltd, the listed arm of China National Coal Group, reported its polyolefin output was down 12.2% year on year but rose 2.7% on the month to 115,000 tonnes in August, according to figures released by the company on September 14.
Polyolefin sales fell 5.4% on the year and 13.8% month on month at 106,000 tonnes, data showed.
The company produced 58,000 tonnes of polyethylene, down 12.1% from a year ago and 4.9% month on month. The production of polypropylene was 57,000 tonnes, dropping 12.3% year on year yet up 11.8% month on month.
Sales of polyethylene declined 14.5% year on year and 20.9% month on month to 53,000 tonnes. Polypropylene sales were 53,000 tonnes, up 6% on the year but down 5.4% on the month.
The production of urea jumped 124.7% year on year but decreased 1.6% month on month to 182,000 tonnes, and urea sales were 140,000 tonnes, climbing 62.8% year on year but down 24.3% month on month.
In August, the company produced 161,000 tonnes of methanol, up 64.3% year on year yet down 4.2% month on month and sold 160,000 tonnes, up 46.8% year on year but falling 8% month on month.
