China National Nuclear Power Co., Ltd. (CNNP), a subsidiary of China National Nuclear Corp (CNNC), produced 156.16 TWh of electricity in the first three quarters of this year, up 6.88% against the same period of 2022, CNNC reported.
The on-grid power generation amounted to 146.84 TWh during the period, a 7.24% rise.
Generation from nuclear units totaled 139.46 TWh in January-September, a 2.57% rise year on year, of which 130.42 TWh was supplied to the grid, up 2.68%.
Renewable output totaled 16.7 TWh, a remarkable surge of 64.80%. Within this segment, solar generation stood at 9.09 TWh, up 59.39%, and wind generation 7.61 TWh, up 71.8%. Renewable on-grid generation rose 65.67% to 16.42 TWh.
As of September 30, CNNP had 25 nuclear units in operation, with a total installed capacity of 23.75 GW. Moreover, the company had a stake in 13 units under construction or awaiting regulatory approval, with a total installed capacity of 15.14 GW.
For renewable energy, CNNP had a total operational installed capacity of 15.56 GW, comprising 5.12 GW of wind and 10.44 GW of solar. Additionally, the company held a controlling interest in independent energy storage facilities with a capacity of 0.45 GW. The renewable assets under construction totaled 9.55 GW, including 1.58 GW of wind and 7.98 GW of solar.
