Mongolia exported 1.12 million tonnes of iron ore over January-February 2023, rising 35.29% or 292,400 tonnes from the previous year, showed the latest data from the Mongolian Customs General Administration (MCGA).
The total export earnings increased by 38.62% on the year to $90.16 million in the year, data showed.
China remained the only destination of Mongolian iron ore exports in the first two months of 2024.
MCGA didn't release the specific figure for February. Sxcoal calculated the exports at 524,700 tonnes based on the overall exports published by the customs authority, up 12.13% year on year yet down12.00% on the month.
The value of iron ore exports amounted to $42.76 million in February, with average price at $81.50/t, down $2.12/t from the year-ago level yet up $2.00/t from January, data showed.
