China's production of coke, crude steel and finished steel all registered year-on-year increase during January-February this year, according to data released by the National Bureau of Statistics.
China produced 80.39 million tonnes of coke during the first two months, rising 2.1% year on year. The daily coke production was calculated at 1.34 million tonnes during the period, up 0.6% from December.
Crude steel output stood at 167.96 million tonnes, a year-on-year increase of 1.6%. The average daily crude steel output was 2.80 million tonnes over the first two months, up 28.7% from December last year.
The production of pig iron was 140.73 million tonnes, falling 0.6% from a year ago. Daily production averaged 2.35 million tonnes, up 19.5% from December last year.
Finished steel production climbed 7.9% year on year to 213.43 million tonnes over January-February. The figure put the average daily output to 3.56 million tonnes, an increase of 1.6% from December last year, NBS data showed.
