Coal production of Mongolia came in at 6.76 million tonnes in February 2024, rising 28.26% year on year yet declining 2.81% month on month, showed data from the National Statistical Office of Mongolia.
The country produced a total 13.72 million tonnes of coal over the first two months this year, jumping 19.90% from the preceding year.
Mongolia's iron ore production was 355,900 tonnes in February, climbing 32.35% on the year and 4.34% on the month. This included 263,300 tonnes of iron sand, surging 58.23% year on year and 47.67% from the previous month, and 92,600 tonnes of iron concentrate, down 9.66% from a year ago and 43.12% month on month.
Production of iron ore in Mongolia totaled 697,000 tonnes over January-February, up 14.69% year on year. Iron sand output was 441,600 tonnes, 11.68% higher than the year-ago level, and iron concentrate production increased 20.30% to 255,400 tonnes.
