China Coal Xinji Energy Co., Ltd produced 5.01 million tonnes of raw coal in the first quarter of 2024, falling 9.41% from the preceding year, according to an announcement released by the company.
Commercial coal production declined 1.53% year on year to 4.69 million tonnes during the same period, while the company sold 4.52 million tonnes of commercial coal, down 5.44% on the year.
Xinji Energy achieved revenue of 2.60 billion yuan from its core business of coal sales in January-March, up 1.49% from a year earlier, while coal sales cost totaled 1.57 billion yuan, a 1.24% rise. The gross profit of coal sales reached 1.03 billion yuan, up 1.87% year on year.
In terms of electricity business, located in eastern China's Anhui province and solely for thermal power, the first quarter saw a power generation of 2.46 TWh, up 27.10% YoY. Grid-connected electricity amounted to 2.33 TWh, growing 27.92% YoY; the average grid-connected electricity price (excl. taxes) stood at 0.4081 yuan/kWh, an increase of 1.49% YoY.
