China has started to implement a new freight train schedule nationwide from 6:00 pm April 10, according to the nation's railway operator China State Railway Group Co., Ltd.
There would be 271 coal direct trains scheduled across the country, increasing 8 trains, while 118 non-coal direct trains are arranged, rising 29 from the previous schedule.
Following the adjustment, transportation of key commodities related to livelihood has been optimized, with an increase in the number of freight trains and bulk direct freight trains.
To ensure the transportation needs of key national livelihood materials such as coal, grain, and fertilizers for spring farming, and to fully tap into transportation potential, arrangements have been made to operate 389 bulk direct trains across railway groups, an increase of 37 trains, China Railway said.
This move aims to effectively reduce the overall logistics costs and contribute to the construction of a unified national market, thereby providing strong support for high-quality economic and social development.
